Hey Guys.
We've been home from Australia for a few weeks now. There's not a day that goes by where I don't think of it. The people and the place. We were there for Soundwave Festival, and with that, we were there for countless conversations.
The video below doesn't do the trip justice. There are no interviews and you don't get to hear any of the stories. You can't see the smoke from the fires or the courage in the faces. We had hoped to go spend time with people who lost everything in Victoria, but the weather cancelled our plans. We had hoped to connect with Dustin Miller - he was going to film interviews for us - but that didn't happen either.
Part of me was frustrated - this amazing trip but very little to show for it. But we did have a handheld camera with us, and when we weren't having conversations at the table, we were doing our best to stand inside the songs. We watched our friends in Underoath and Anberlin play some of the biggest shows of their lives. It's hard to explain what was happening in those moments. It was something alive.
Every person in every sea of people is also a story and every story matters. There are things worth screaming about. There are songs worth singing. Other places exist and people live there and they are priceless just like you.
Enjoy the video.
Peace to you.

I think this is a beautiful video. It didn't need anything more than what was there. It tells a lot from the unheard and unseen. You can tell there is something more happening in Australia and I'm glad TWLOHA could be a part of it.

Jamie try not to be frustrated. Remember you have lots to show for this trip! While you may not have gotten everything on camera, you did build memories and friendships! You did spread hope and love and probably saved a life. Sometimes the best gifts are these unseen things. The gift of hope and love are more precious than anything!
Peace and Love

Frustratingly I cannot watch the video as I only have internet on my phone.
Im so glad you came to Australia. You may not feel you have much to show for it but my friends and I gained so much from our discovery of TWLOHA.
The fires are out, rebuild has begun and the weather is dreary. Come visit again soon!

I think this video is even more meaningful without interviews or anything of that sort... Sometimes we don't need words. Just quiet and the knowledge that we're not alone.
God bless.

I feel like a groupie every time I respond to something you write, but I am not the type of girl who does nothing when moved. So here I am again, an excited, hopeful, moved little groupie. :)
I watch the video and I think, "look at what hope got to be a part of. Look at what was present in a place where it once was not." And that makes my heart happy. That makes me feel moved. Thinking much of you. Praying much for you. B

Jamie, I just wanted to let you know that I read Blue Like Jazz. I think that is one of the main reasons I started believing in God. I also wanted to say thank you for that. I completely agree with what you said. "Every person in every sea of people is also a story and every story matters..." I've been thinking about that and basically everything like that for the past few months, and it's good to know that I'm not the only one in this mind set; I'm not alone.
Thank you, God bless.

I'm from Fresno, CA and on Oct 17th 2009 my friends and I plan on hosting a fashion show to benefit Invisible Children at Fresno State. We would love to have a vendor from your line to come out and sell your clothes and we would also love to have clothes available to model at the show. This will be a big event and if you are interested please e-mail me back. Thank you.

I so wish I could have gone to Soundwave, and I saw in this vid there was a TWLOHA tee-shirt stall. So, if I save up does this mean I can buy a shirt there? I'm definitely going to Soundwave next year - I'll save up and buy tickets next year. Great vid!
