June held highest Army suicide rates since Vietnam.
Last month held the highest recorded number of Army suicides since the Vietnam era. While Army officials report that they are unaware as to why this is happening, they are making efforts to educate soldiers in suicide prevention by showing 'real stories' of soldiers who have struggled with suicidal thoughts to troops during mandatory training days.
Our hearts are heavy for the friends and families of soldiers lost to suicide. We are thankful for the efforts being made to save lives. Let's remember to support members of our armed forces as they carry a weight most of us will never know. Let's stand with them in what is often the hardest battle of all, the struggle of letting go and coming home and moving forward.
