Applying for an Internship
So you’re interested in interning with To Write Love on Her Arms? If you came this far, you’re probably curious about what an internship with us would look like.
To Write Love on Her Arms aims to fight the stigma and shame that keeps people feeling hopeless and alone. We hope to be a continual inspiration and help for those who are taking steps toward recovery from issues of depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. At To Write Love On Her Arms, we believe we can do this by bringing people together and by meeting people where they are, in person and online. The goal of the internship program is to facilitate a community of people willing and equipped to live out the TWLOHA mission. Primarily, the Intern Program exists to aid our organization in our goal of connecting others to help and to community.
Internship duties include the management and development of our Street Team, MySpace and Info accounts. We place interns within departments based on their skill sets in areas such as Graphic Design, Communications, UChapters, Events, Office Administration, and Policy & Research. Our office is based in Cocoa, FL and serves as the home base of TWLOHA. Interns help us keep the office running and assist us in everything we do here. We are currently working on lots of new projects, and our interns will be given a large amount of responsibility within the implementation and development of these new ventures.
During your stay, you will gain valuable, practical work experience and a taste of what it’s like to live with others in community. Our interns learn from one another, work together, and, most importantly, challenge each other to live honestly and learn to create healthy relationships with others. We recognize that at certain times living in community can be very challenging, but we believe that we are not meant to live alone.
We are looking for people who are flexible, creative, hard working, and passionate about the movement. We also want people who like to have fun and who aren't afraid to challenge the process and think outside the box – people who are open-minded and willing to meet the needs of the organization, whatever they may be. Please look over the following information and if this sounds like something you're interested in, please apply today!
