We would like to extend a special invitation to you to join us at our upcoming MOVE Community Conferences this spring!

MOVE conferences are designed for people looking to engage others in conversations about the topics TWLOHA addresses: depression, addiction, self-injury, suicide, and the role a trusted community plays in bringing hope to those who feel broken. We believe that these issues are not spoken about as often as they need to be, largely due to their stigmatized and taboo nature in society. This conference stems from the idea that uniting our resources helps take people from places of pain to places of hope and healing. MOVE is for someone new to these topics entirely or someone who has worked in a mental health setting for years. This two-day, in-depth, engaging workshop is led by professional counselors, where we explore what is behind these struggles, what drives them, what recovery looks like, and how we can make a difference where we live.

Our team was able to bring MOVE to seven US cities in 2010, and we’re excited to begin our conference series with three huge conferences in Austin, Los Angeles, and New York City at a greatly reduced cost.

First up is our MOVE conference in Austin, Texas. MOVE Austin will be held on Friday, March 11th and Saturday, March 12th, from 9 - 5 at The University of Texas at Austin (hosted by the UT Austin UChapter).

We believe you will find our conference engaging, educational, and essential for beginning and continuing life-changing conversations about mental health in your community. If you would like to join us, email move@twloha.com for an application today. Additional dates and information can be found on our website.

    Hope to see you soon!

    With Hope,
    Kaitlyn
    Director of MOVE Community Conferences

i think there needs to be more walks, fun runs, and outdoors social gatherings (like meeting at big concerts or local activities that's not necessarily twloha focused but involved). we can all make new friends and discuss recovery and provide some sort of buddie aid. i think there needs to be a large focus on building up self esteem and just accepting who we are. i am in recovery of self abuse and i wouldn't think twice again about harming myself and i find the best thing for me was NOT discussing all the awful things that made me sad but focusing on the good. its not healthy for some to run from their bad thoughts but honestly for others (esp the introspective) its sometimes the best thing to do... and maybe readdress why was i thinking like that when i'm in a better place in my head to deal with it. my biggest issue these days and i think for all of us is accepting who we are. i'm not mentally tough i'm emotional and i cry too much over little things... but thats me. and i still can't accept it.... if we all band together and see the similarities within us as a group i think it would help alot! we need to make twloha camps that focus on doing fun things like water activities, confidence building courses and comradre during the day and at night have some funny skits followed by serious descussion on coping to end with... and have it for all ages! i'm 25 and i'd be down for one of two week summer camp lol

Hello, Im Vanessa.! I Myself have suffered from alot of depression and cutting. Ive stopped last year and ive been trying to spread the world about twloha.com as much as i can. Im an online gamer and i always send out messages telling people to log on to the website. I think its amazing what you guys do for people and you guys have helped me ina huge way. I was thinking You guys should definitly get involved with gamers because alot of depression is caused by bullying/cyber bulling. Think about it. Millions of gamers log on a day. You can spread the word alot faster by getting involved with gamers.(:
