    Hey Guys.

Just wanted to say hello and let everyone know that our friends in Paramore released a really amazing new record yesterday. It's called "Riot!" and it's in my ears as I'm typing this. A giant storm just came thru, and I'm listening to the song "We Are Broken" and everytime it ends, I find myself going back and starting it again. I was going to send this out as a bulletin but this song is too good and too important. So now it's a blog : ) If you have a buck, go buy this song. If you have ten, go buy the record.

I am a big fan of good words, and honest music. Here's the lyrics to "We Are Broken":

    We Are Broken.
by Paramore (from the new album "Riot!")

    I am outside
And I've been waiting for the sun
    With my wide eyes
I've seen worlds that don't belong
My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize
Tell me why we live like this

    Keep me safe inside
    Your arms like towers
    Tower over me

    Yeah
    Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
    Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole

    Lock the doors
Cause I'd like to capture this voice
    it came to me tonight
So everyone will have a choice
    And under red lights
I'll show myself it wasn't forged
    We're at war
    We live like this

    Keep me safe inside
    Your arms like towers
    Tower over me

    Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
    Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole

    Tower over me
    Tower over me

And I'll take the truth at any cost

    Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
    Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole

    This song rules.

What does this song mean?

it is, at it's very route, a prayer or plea to God... Hayley Williams (lead singer and songwriter for Paramore) pretty much surveys the human struggle brilliantly and the lines "keep me safe inside Your arms like towers" are asking God to keep her safe inside His mighty arms.

this song is so amazing
the words are simplistic but they cut with sharp edges straight to the point: that even though we are broken, we have a safe place in the arms of our God.

These lyrics really mean a lot to me. They seem to have a meaning that no one knows except yourself.
They explain the hurt. They explain the past. They explain the want, or the feeling, to be held safely. I love these lyrics, and they explain me in so many ways.

I cannot believe I've been so dense to this song. I myself am a huge Paramore fan, and I have all of their songs, including their unreleased ones. I listen to them religiously. The meaning to this song escaped me though, up until just now. But WOW.

I just want to say that this song is amazing. I'm sixteen and I'm living day to day realizing it's getting harder and harder to find reasons to keep living. But if I can say anything about my life, I want to say that the two things keeping me alive are my dreams of writing, and MUSIC. Songs like these. Happy songs. Sad songs. Beautiful songs. Stupid songs. Music is the reason I'm here, the reason I'm able to be writing this right now.

I also really want to thank To Write Love On Her Arms for EVERYTHING. I obsess over the organization. It's appreciated more than you guys will ever know. Thank you thank you thank you for helping us.

I love paramore so much. Hayley Williams and Paramore have helped me so much. Being a cutter, clinically depressed, sudical and on the verge of being anerexic they help me see life in a different light. The lyrics speak to me, they help me realise life is worth living, and there is goin to be ups and downs.

Are we broken is such a beautiful song, it means a lot to me. Its one of me and my best friends favourite songs.

I'm so glad they didnt split up. it would of finished me if they had, they honestly keep me going

I love Paramore and this is one of my favorite songs by them. I didn't notice until today what the words really mean. This song is so beautifully written.

Was listening to it today for the first time. A friend who introduced it to me was previously involved in self harm intensely. Then saw TWLOHA on facebook 2 hours later. Keep up the love. Will write words of life on November 13. I pray for readers.

This song has always been one of my favorites by Paramore. RIOT! is such an amazing album by such an amazing band. It was an encouragement to see Hayley and Josh write the killer upbeat songs that everyone can jam to, and then have poignant moments like "We Are Broken" where you really see the whole band's empathy and message of hope to their listeners.

While I have never had to deal with issues like the ones some of you guys on here have shared, I understand how important it is to have the honest conversations that TWLOHA strives to inspire people to have.

I am grateful to everyone who has ever helped anyone struggling to find the "promise we adored" again.

Many thanks to Jamie for posting this; I'm sure through this someone experienced the great healing power of music, maybe at a time they needed it most.

And, lastly, I have so much gratitude for Paramore, for being my favorite band and for making honest music that helps me with my day-to-day issues, as well as the big, overbearing ones I know others have.

Take care everyone. (And pick up Paramore's new album, Brand New Eyes. XD)
