Hey Guys.
Hello from New York City - Times Square to be exact. Byron and i just took a walk and checked out the enormous famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, which was lit earlier tonight, smells great and simply rules. New York is hard to beat, especially this time of year. You gotta see it.
We are in town for the first-ever Alliance of Youth Movements Summit:
"From December 3 to 5, leaders of pioneering youth movements will launch a global network that seeks to empower young people to mobilize against violence and oppression. Brought together by Howcast, Facebook, Google, YouTube, MTV, the U.S. Department of State, Columbia Law School and Access 360 Media, leaders of the organizations will travel to New York City with the mission of crafting a field manual on how to effect social change using online tools."
Needless to say, we're beyond honored to be here. It's a pretty amazing group of people from all over the world, brought together by a pretty incredible group of brands. Everyone here is fighting for change in some way, working creatively to fight injustice and make life better for people. One interesting thing about this group is that all of us are using the internet and new media to do it.
TWLOHA will be featured (speaking) on two different panels:
Thursday, 12/4 - 1:45 to 2:45pm EST
Panel: "Addressing Violence at Home"
Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg!!
Friday, 12/5 - 8:50am to 9:40am EST
Panel: "How to Begin - Taking it to the Streets"
Hosted by Larry Diamond
For tons more info (including schedule and press release) and to watch the whole thing live online tomorrow and Friday, check out:

This is a pretty big moment for us and i just want to take a second and say that we are here because of you. i mean that in a couple different ways. i mean we're here because you got us here, because of your response and because of your incredible support. But i also mean that we're here on your behalf. Earlier tonight we were at Google and tomorrow we're being interviewed by Whoopi Goldberg and tomorrow night we'll be at MTV in Times Square, and all of that is pretty exciting... but the heart of the matter is that we're here on behalf of people who are hurting. We're here on behalf of people who feel alone and people who live in silence. We're here because we believe in hope and help, and because we believe that people need other people. It's a privilege that we get to say those things and it's a privilege to represent you guys.
i have to be awake in five hours so i should probably get some sleep : )
Peace to you.

I only have one thing to say here - it's incredible how grounded you guys are. that's a real sign of authenticity, and of the authenticity of your love. keep Going, keep Dreaming. keep Hope.

jamie, this is so incredibly amazing! i'll be watching tonight.
i have been working with my youth group pastor to figure out a way to get u guys to come speak here locally. he suggested talking to guidance counselors to get them on board with the idea and spread the word in high schools around here. so i did and my guidance counselor said the only thing he's concerned about is the fact that you never know who is fake. well, this is proof to him that twloha is the real deal, a real living movement that really changes people. i have dedicated my life to spreading your words and God's love. just wanted you to know that. <3 thank you so much and I'm so happy for you and all the staff that you get this opportunity.
love,
terrah

Hi, all, I just wanted to say thanks for the positive message you put out there; I am a teacher at a Pennsylvania high school, and I came to this website because I noticed "twloha.com" written in a few of the girl's bathroom stalls. I came to check it out, out of curiosity, and was surprised by what I found.
You are making an impression on the people who need it most. And they're advertising for you!
Keep up the good work!

Hi Jamie, all I wanted to say is thanks. TWLOHA did not help me stop cutting or to seek professional assistance: it helped me keep going through it.
My cutting addiction lasted 2 1/2 years starting at age 10 in 6th grade but started my self-mutilation at 9, I was moderately to severely depressed and was extremely suicidal and nearly killed myself a few times, got found out, was forced to talk to a therapist, met a psychiatrist, became a victim to medication that worked opposite of how it should have, I started cutting even worse, and got sent to a psych ward.
Thankfully, I was only there for 10 days and got my medication situation fixed up. Now I am a little over one year out of the psych ward, fairly stable, and the last time I cut was, albeit two months ago, very minimal and did not bring back the addiction. TWOLHA helped me in my hardest times of dealing with taking medication and being depressed and not being able to tell anybody. Then I just wanted to die because I was so mortified to be "sick." I found TWOLHA and that was my candle in the abyss of darkness that was my depression.
Even though my depression is becoming worse, with some very unexpected side effects, TWOLHA has prevented me from cutting/killing myself AND has made me realize that I really need to be completely honest with my therapist and not just give her the good stuff and hide the bad so she doesn't bother me.
Thanks again,
Lyss

I have commented about me being 13, and struggling with my SI for a couple months now, on the Post Secret one-
but I just wanted to say thanks again.
TWLOHA encouraged me to keep talking with my teacher about it, and not to keep it hidden.
We're going to meet with my parents after school next week, and...we're gonna tell them so I can get some help.
Thanks so much Jamie-for everything.

You have no idea how much this movement has changed my life. I've been in and out of placement ever since I was 14 and have just recently got out of a level 4 lockup after being there for a year. There were so many nights that I just wanted to run or take my own life in the dark. Now being free and hearing about Renee and her story its brought me hope and given me love to suceed. Thank you so much guys.

Hi Jamie and the rest of TWLOHA: You are an inspiration.
After attempting suicide, I received treatment, but still felt alone. When one of my friends showed me this site, I was surprised. You guys have shown me that there are millions of people just like me in the world.
Now, I strive to help others like me living with this struggle. Thank you.
